From the A Team
Super Week Six!
Dear Parents, Caregivers, Families, and Friends,
Thursday was the highlight of the week at Rick Marcotte Central School! South Burlington High School students visited a variety of classrooms at RMCS for their fall community service project. Mr. Josh Cannaday's 9th grade SLAM Advisory and their senior Peer Leader participated in classroom activities, read books to our students, and helped teachers with classroom projects, including preparation for Open House. Thank you to the SBHS 9th graders, their senior peer leaders, and Mr. Cannady, for your positive contribution to the RMCS community!
It's Homecoming at SBHS next week. Wyn the Wolf and his Wolf Pack friends visited RMCS students at recess on Thursday to spread the excitement. Members of the high school cheerleading and football teams came to play football and teach some cheers and stunts, while Wyn gave out some hugs and enjoyed the playground structure with his elementary friends. Next week, mascot Wyn will be back to give RMCS students wristbands to attend upcoming homecoming games for free! See more specifics about Homecoming later in the memo.
And finally, wow - what a wonderful night at RMCS! On Thursday evening, we excitedly welcomed many RMCS families, caregivers and loved ones into the school building to visit classrooms, meet teachers and staff, participate in activities and share their students' learning experiences. The school was alive and buzzing with enthusiasm, joy and connection. Our students are so proud of their work in the first month of the school year and students and teachers alike were thrilled to celebrate and share that with the important people in their lives. We look forward to future events to continue to welcome students and their loved ones into the school building and to foster strong school-community connections.
Don't forget, there is no school on Monday, October 10th. Our students and teachers have been working hard and everyone deserves a break. Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day, and have a fabulous three day weekend!
Best,
Stephanie & Lissa

Monarch Day in Kindergarten!
Our Kindergarten classes celebrated Monarch Day on Thursday. One of the early learning units in Kindergarten was learning about the life cycle of butterflies, including seeing monarchs emerge from their chrysalis right in the classroom! Our kindergarten classrooms have been busy as students learn to be scientists and to make creative connections to science concepts.
TEAMWORK for EVERYBODY in PE!
In Physical Education class with Mr. Day, EVERYBODY worked on TEAMWORK activities for the first 3 weeks.
K-2 is now working on space, including open, personal, and general. This includes moving through that space in different directions, levels, and pathways by using the basic locomotor skills of run, gallop, slide, hop, jump, and skip.
Students in grades 3- 5 are playing ULTIMATE FRISBEE.
The TEAMWORK wall is signed by students every year and Mr. Day talks about how signing the wall puts them on the RMCS TEAM for PE and the rest of the school!!! Even the princiPAL signed the Team Wall, because we are all on the same team!
Order Your School Photos!
School portrait order forms have now been distributed to students. There are two ways to order your child’s school portraits from AMV Photography:
1) Complete and return your envelope order form to school by Friday, Oct 21st.
2) Order online at https://hosting.myproimages.com/amv-photography-2120/
Enter the unique password printed on your child’s order form to view their images. This code is different from your child’s student ID so please see their envelope for the code.
We are offering 25% off all online orders only until Oct 21st using the code RMCS25.
The prices on the order envelopes are the lowest that we offer because we place these orders in bulk and deliver them back to the school. This allows us to take advantage of a bulk ordering discount, so we can offer lower prices on these orders. The online prices are higher, but we offer additional products online and these orders are shipped directly to your home. For this reason, we also have the 25% off discount code for the first two weeks.
Picture Make Up Day will be Tuesday, Oct 25th. If you missed your original picture day or would like retakes, please let your child’s teacher know.
Please direct any questions to cs@amvphotography.com. Thank you and enjoy your images!
