Administrators' Message ~ November 12th

Dear Sandymount Families,

American Education Week is next week! American Education Week is a time to celebrate public education and honor individuals who are making a difference in ensuring that every student receives a quality education.

As you know, CCPS schools will not be hosting traditional large group parent visitation to classrooms. However, you should have received information from your child’s teacher on how their grade level team will share classwork, projects and/or activities that students are involved in during American Education Week. If you have not received communication about American Education Week, please email your child’s teacher.

We will continue to celebrate and honor our veterans/active military men and women for all of November and December. If you have a family member who you would like us to pay tribute to, please complete the form below and return to school.

Parent-Teacher conferences will be held on November 17th and November 22nd. If you previously conferenced with your child’s homeroom teacher, please refrain from scheduling a second conference, unless you have significant concerns. First preference will be given to families who have not met with their child’s teacher.

Have a great weekend!

Cold Weather and Recess

Colder weather is here! Students will go outside for recess as long as the temperature is 32 degrees and above. The instructional assistants would like to remind students to bring proper clothes for recess. (coats, hats and gloves are very important) If a student wears a coat to school you should also wear a coat outside for recess.

Employment Opportunities

Did you know that our school has employment opportunities currently available? Please consider contacting Stacy Kowaleviocz at slkowal@carrollk12.org for more details on available position(s). Interested applicants are asked to also visit the Employment Opportunities section of the CCPS website, as they must complete a CCPS employment application to be fully considered for positions. The CCPS Department of Human Resources manages this process and is the only office authorized to make official employment offers once the school completes interviews and all required documentation is finalized. Please share this information with family and friends who may be interested in employment. Thank you for your continued support of our school community.
