Sixth grade ROCKS!

Important Classroom Announcements

Yearbooks: It's not too late to order a yearbook. If you would like a yearbook the office has a few available for $15. Hurry, they will go quickly!

Breakfast in the classroom: Students in grades 4-6 will have the opportunity to try out our new "Breakfast in the Classroom". A letter went home about this on Friday of last week. Questions? You can contact the cafeteria at 812-579-6752.

What's happening in class?

Language Arts-This week we will read Greek plays and create board games based on these myths. We will also learn how to spell words with Greek roots. Instead of the usual 30 points, students will need to complete a spelling packet by Friday. There will be no choice board this week. The only Friday test will be spelling. This will be our last week for spelling this year.

Science-We will do some STEM activities related to our study of Greek mythology.

Math: Students will continue with unit 9 this week. We will focus on finding the volume of prisms, cylinders, and spheres, the Pythagorean theorem, and using spreadsheets to represent data. Students will have homework this week Monday through Thursday.

Social Studies: Students will be learning about the Industrial Revolution in Europe. We will study the different inventions and inventors of the Industrial Revolution and how they impacted society and the economy.
