SASC 2014
Connect. Lead. Inspire.
What is SASC?
SASC is the Southern Association of Student Councils. It is a student driven organizations that links student councils across a 15 state region. SASC is also an affiliate of the National Association of Student Councils. The biggest event within SASC every year is host its annual conference. The conference is a three day event full of fun, leadership, and networking. This year the conference will be held on October 11-13 at Mountain View High School, just north of Atlanta, GA.
Connect.
Connecting will be the first part of your conference experience. The first day of the conference will focus on an interactive design that provides you with numerous opportunities to meet leaders from all across the southeast. These connections will bring you new ideas that you can take back to your school, and you will be able to share with others the projects you have in your state. You will be forming friendships and building networks that will be beneficial for your councils now and possibly for future careers
Lead.
Day two of the conference will focus specifically on leadership skills, featuring keynote speakers and numerous workshops. Since servant leadership is a critical skill, we are also working to design a hands-on service project that will help you make a difference in the lives of people around the world. It is our hope that this day will challenge you, stretch you, and help you to grow.
Inspire.
Finally to cap off the conference, we want you to be inspired by the city of Atlanta. Mountain View High School is just a quick 30 minutes from downtown. On day 3 we plan on wrapping up the conference with celebrations in the centennial Olympic park Area of Atlanta which includes attractions such as the World of Coke, the GA Aquarium, and the new Civil Rights Museum
