Youth Creative Writing Winners

SHS students Ashley Tijerina and Natalia Davila are finalists in the Youth Creative Writing Contest for the South Texas Book Festival. Both of them were encouraged to enter by their Speech teacher-Cesar Alvarado and Ernesto Gonzalez. Ashley placed 2nd in prose; Natalia placed 3rd. They will be recognized at 4 pm on Sunday, November 10th at the South Texas Book Festival which will be held at MPL. Please congratulate these young ladies when you see them.

Digital Citizenship Lessons Mandatory

No more Senor TickleWhiskers! All SHS and SA3 students will need to complete two lessons this year 2019-2020. Lessons are ready to go. The first 25 teachers to submit reservations via Mrs. Nicole Cruz will get a free conference during 4th block. All students must complete the lessons by March 13th. More information to come at the November 5th PD session.

South Texas Book Festival Sunday Nov 10th

Please inform your students about this event. It is fun for the whole family. Authors, books, engaging sessions and much more. This event will be held at the MPL on Sunday, November 10th from noon to 7 pm. More than 24 fabulous authors, illustrators, and poets will be on hand. Free books for students!

Free Glucose Checks on November 14th

Diabetes is a leading cause of blindness, amputation, heart disease, kidney failure and early death. Simple action can reduce the risk. Your library team will partner with HOSA students to provide free glucose checks on November 14th at the library. Come on in and get checked.

Trick or Treat Event

The BCM Club participated in the Go Center Trick or Treat event on October 31st. Students donated candy, decorated the booth, and worked the event. The theme of our booth was Ghostly Grave Diggers.
