Literacy Plan Recommendations: IMPACT in Focus
As you revise your local literacy plan, here are some resources from the OSRCL HUB to assist you in the areas of Instruction and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. Under Instruction, the Oklahoma English Language Arts (ELA) Toolkit is a one stop shop for OSDE’s ELA resources including the ELA Standards. Be sure to take a look at the ELA Frameworks. The home page includes resources for the Oklahoma Academic Standards (OAS) for English Language Arts (ELA). The Literacy Progressions define literary elements and describe how they progress from Pre-K through 12th grade. Click on a grade level on the left to discover information about objectives, student proficiency levels, instructional guidance and more. The OSRCL HUB resources for middle and high school from the Literacy Design Collaborative.
Under Multi-Tiered Support, you can find resources from the Oklahoma Tiered Intervention System of Support (OTISS) which has tools for implementing a multi-tiered system of support including templates, implementation documents, and coaching guides. The Response to Intervention (RTI) website has information about implementing the essential components of RTI. You can also find a number of resources on the Reading Sufficiency website for coordinators and teachers.

Early Childhood News
The Oklahoma Early Childhood world is excited to announce the revised version of the Early Learning Guidelines for Infants, Toddlers, and Twos. Sharon Morgan had the opportunity to work on the committee to align these guidelines with the Oklahoma Academic Standards and Head Start Framework. The Early Learning Guidelines for Ages 3-5 will be available soon.
Another excellent resource for early childhood is Sprouts Child Development. If you are looking for a birth through age 5 assessment, click on screening and you will be able to access to the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3) for free. There are also sections about early literacy and development that would be useful when communicating with families.
Family Guides From the Oklahoma State Department of Education
The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) is excited to share the Oklahoma Family Guides for English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies for Pre-K through 2nd Grade.
The OSDE Family Guides are resources aligned with the Oklahoma Academic Standards and developed specifically for Oklahoma families to complement classroom learning. They illustrate what is expected of students at each grade level in different content areas along with activities families can do at home to further support children's learning experiences.
