Makerspace Moments! Spotlight: 100 Item Structures

Makerspace Moments are a time when students can come to the Learning Commons to explore and create. This month's spotlight is 100 Item Structures!

What can you do with 100 toothpicks, 100 cups, 100 LEGOS, and more?!

If you would like to participate as a class, let me know and we can work something out!

The Makerspace Moments schedule:

Tuesdays 9am - 10am AND 12:30pm-1pm

Wednesdays 12pm - 1pm

After School Make Shop for Teacher's Kids!

On Thursday, January 29, 3pm - 4pm, Mrs. Burwick and I will be doing an after school Make Shop for Teacher's Kids in the Learning Commons! We will be learning about soldering! This Make Shop is for students in grades 2 - 5. It is limited to 10 students. Snacks will be provided! Lion Cub Storytime

Each month, we host a story time for little friends who are not yet old enough to attend NPES. Here are this year's Lion Cub Story Time dates (they all start at 9am):

About Us

The Vision and Mission of the New Providence Elementary School Learning Commons is to ensure that students and teachers are effective users of ideas and information in regards to both print and digital resources. We strive to provide library materials and services appropriate to the curriculum of the school and to provide library materials and services that meet the information and recreational needs of the learning community and that will encourage and support Common Core State Standards as well as the 4 C's - Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Creativity, and Communication. We provide opportunities for collaboration between the Learning Commons Team (Teacher Librarian, Library Assistant, Technology Integration Specialist) and the Classroom Teacher to integrate information literacy, digital literacy, book love and technology into instruction.
