Student Activities
February 1st marked the start of Semester 2 for our Bulldogs. With the start of new courses, our students were also busy planning for the highly anticipated 20th Anniversary of our Bellerose Bikeathon. Our students also had some fun during Valentine's week, and showed up in a big way on Pink Shirt Day!
March starts with the year's most exciting event, the Bellerose Bikeathon! With this being the 20th Anniversary of this incredible event, we hope to reach a combined goal of $3.5M raised for cancer treatment, research and care.
CRUSH for your Crush
Our students showed extra love for each other this February with our "CRUSH for your Crush" event on Valentines Day!
Pink Shirt Day
On February 22nd, hundreds of our students proudly wore pink to show their commitment to kindness on Pink Shirt Day!
Musical Theatre
Our Musical Theater group is hard at work rehearsing for their upcoming performance of Anything Goes, a musical with music and lyrics by Cole Porter.

Registration for the 2023-2024 School Year
On March 7th, during block 5, current students will be provided with copies of the 2023-2024 School Guidebook along with a blank course selection sheet. Students who do not have a block 5 class will be required to pick up a package at the front office. We encourage students to take this information home and have important conversations with their families about their high school and future plans. Course selections will be finalized when students meet with a member of our Administration and Counselling teams on March 20th during the school day.

Grade 12 High School Diploma Achievement
On Monday, March 6th, all Grade 12 families will receive a letter with an updated progress of their students graduation requirements. The letter will indicate if the student is ON TRACK or NOT ON TRACK to earn their Alberta High School Diploma based on their current academic plan.
At the school level, students and families can make appointments within our Student Centre to review the current Graduation Plan and progress towards their Alberta high school academic credential and make any necessary course and/or program changes.

Bulldog Athletics
The Bulldog Athletics winter season is coming to a close with the Metro Athletics Zone Wrestling Championships on March 1st at Beaumont Composite High School. Good luck to Bulldog Wrestling’s Jamie Clark in the 76kg division as he seeks a spot at the upcoming A.S.A.A. Provincial Wrestling Championships in Lethbridge at Lethbridge Collegiate Institute on March 16th and 17th.
On Saturday, March 11th, our Bulldogs will be competing in the Rooming Room Indoor Games at the Universiade Pavilion (Butterdome) on the University of Alberta campus
(114 Street and 87 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta). Good luck Bulldogs!
Bulldog Rugby has begun its season with training sessions at Servus Place. Bulldog Women’s Rugby hits the turf on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45pm - 4:30pm and Bulldog Rugby takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:45pm - 4:30pm. Please see Mr. Jason Dabbagh for more information regarding Bulldog Women’s Rugby and Mr. Taylor Sedgewick for more information regarding Bulldog Men’s Rugby.
Bulldog Badminton begins its journey in Metro Athletics regular season action on March 7th in the Main Gym as they face two different Panthers. Spruce Grove Composite High School visits for a 4:00pm matchup and J Percy Page takes to the floor against our Bulldogs for a 6:15pm start.
Bulldog Soccer will have a preseason meeting on Thursday, March 9 at 11:00am in Room 213. All interested players should attend the meeting for more information or contact Mr. Thompson.

A reminder statement was emailed February 17th for any outstanding semester 2 school fees and/or athletic fees. The statement included fees for courses and activities in which your student was enrolled in, and any outstanding balances from previous semesters/years. If you did not receive a statement, but believe you should have school fees owing, please contact the school so that we may confirm your contact information.

Career's and Dual Credit - Discover your Journey
All Work Experience credits for Term 1 have been collected. Any future submissions will only be for term 2 - previous hours will not be considered.
Students still may register at anytime, with the understanding that hours are for this term only.
Dual Credit:
As February approaches Dual Credit is in full swing. It’s not too late to sign up for a Sociology Course or an Olds College class. At this point Psychology is full. Should you want to be put on a wait-list for Psychology you may be considered.

Student Parking
It's not too late to sign up for a Student Parking Pass! Please visit the PowerSchool Parent Portal and fill out the application to purchase yours today.
Parking passes are available to ALL students with a valid driver's license that are attending in-class at Bellerose. The student parking lot is located on the west side of the school and a valid permit is required to park in the lot.
A reminder that Parents and students are not permitted to enter or park in the staff parking lot.

A Message from the Library
Library and Textbook Returns
Please be certain to return ALL textbooks, ELA Novels and Library books from Semester 1 to the library as soon as possible . Email reminders regarding outstanding materials are sent out regularly to your @5565 email address, so please remember to check there!
A reminder to have your school ID ready for semester 2 for textbook checkouts, etc. If you have lost your ID or are new to Bellerose, please see the Library for your Barcode ID.
