Veteran's Day Program
Bransford Elementary will be celebrating Veterans' Day this year on November 11th. All students are encouraged to invite a veteran, family or friend, to our special day. We will begin at 8:30 am with a program and then veteran's will be honored with a PTA reception. Please, register your veteran at https://goo.gl/zqdQmJ
Google Drive
Many parents have been asking how to view their child's work in Google Drive. Please use the usernames and passwords I taped inside their red folder. (Be sure to add @gcisdstudents.net to make it into their e-mail!) If you have issues, please email me and I will be glad to help you! Remember, this will be a valuable tool to see the work your child completes in class. :)
Goal Setting
We have been busy this week using our data from iStation to set some goals! We all have an area to grow in and working on developing our Growth Mindset.
Student of Character
Congratulations to Elizabeth! She has been chosen as our Student of Character for September. Elizabeth can always be counted to be kind to other students, help her peers when needed, and is always a positive role model to others.
Non-fiction Text
This week in Reading, we looked at and studied how the text features of non-fiction text can help us understand what we are reading. We enjoyed get to write on and mark on our text!
Genius Hour is Coming!!!
Next week we will begin implementing Genius Hour into the classroom. To kick this off, about half the class will be participating in the activity at a time. We will then switch and the other half of the class will get a chance to participate in Genius Hour. I am looking for some volunteers to come into the classroom for an hour of time to help assist students with their research and projects. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up here: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/5080A4DA8AE28A20-classroom

Telling Time
We enjoyed playing Stop the Clock to work on telling time to 5 minutes! This is a great game that can be played on any computer at home! (Google Stop the Clock 3 to practice time to 5 minutes.) Some students are still struggling with this, so please practice at home. TIME IS HARD! We don't often use analog clocks these days, so students have a harder time grasping this concept.

Congratulations to Camille, London M., Elizabeth, and David for completing their challenge in Xtra Math! They are off and running towards accomplishing a new goal!
