Mark Twain Interview about "Tom Sawyer"
Interviewer: Mr. Twain, in your new book, I enjoyed your allusion to Robin Hood when the boys were playing games on the island. Why did you choose that particular allusion?
Twain: "I chose this allusion to show a sense of adventure in the boys personalities."
Interviewer: What was your favorite story in your book to relive?
Twain: "I really liked to write and relive the scene of the boys escaping away to the island. It brought back great memories of experiencing freedom and adventure."
Interviewer: Does writing the scary/depressing scenes in your story still affect your emotions?
Twain: "Yes, even though I had these experiences a while back, some scenes in my story still scare me today. They remind me of the sad or scary times I had in my childhood."
