Coffee with the Counselor: Girl Drama!
Join Mrs. Krug, the school counselor, on February 1st at 9:30 am for coffee and discussion on how to help young girls avoid relational aggression. We will learn ways to empower our girls and prevent common problems such as gossip, exclusion and isolation. Sign up here:

We Are Bundled!
Mrs. Winn, Mrs. Krug, and Mrs. Freeman share an unplanned "look-alike" moment on this cold day! Parents, please make sure that your child's name is in their coat or jacket so we can be certain to return misplaced items. Thank you!
School Report Card & Mock A-F Ratings Information
Dear Parents,
Below is a link for our 2015-16 School Report Card. We make this available each January, in compliance with TEA requirements. Lone Star Elementary continues to "Meet Standard", which is the highest possible rating. It is located on our campus webpage, or click here:

This week you may have heard about a model for an A-F rating system, which applies the same data to new measures. Although it is a proposal for the spring of 2018 and has not been formally adopted yet, we've been provided with mock ratings for some of the areas. I always appreciate information that suggests how we can better serve our students and am reviewing this material with our staff. I will be discussing this with interested parents at the end of our PTA meeting on Tuesday, January 17. I am happy to answer any questions about these arbitrary targets at that time, or (of course) you are always welcome to contact me.
We continue to wholeheartedly believe and support the fact that state testing is a minimal part of our students' year with us. We love working with your children, and we celebrate their success in every area, every day. Thank you for sharing them with us. I hope your New Year is off to an amazing start!
