Lending Library Returns

Big picture

As many of you are aware, our school library has been closed this year. During this time, we have been working very hard to make some much-needed improvements. We are preparing to launch a new, improved system for our families.

One important job that we will need to complete before the library can reopen again is we must collect all items that are currently checked out to our families.

We are asking families to return all checked-out materials to their homeschool teacher or to the Poway library location by April 1st.

We appreciate your help with this and look forward to serving your family again next year with a new and improved system that we are sure you will enjoy.

LCAP Survey

Dear Mission Vista Academy Families,

Each year we will ask our MVA families to complete a survey related to the District’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) which identifies goals, measurements, and actions planned by MVA to improve student outcomes.

An important part of our LCAP is the input gathered from our school stakeholders. We want to encourage your input into the LCAP survey as it is an essential piece of our LCAP report and charter.

Please take a few moments to provide input to this important process by clicking on this link: LCAP Family Survey Link.

Please complete by April 16th. Thank you so much!

Three week dissection Club!

Big picture

Hello MVA families!

We hope you've enjoyed the many wonderful clubs offered this school year. We are really excited about our first-ever Dissection Demonstration series. These demonstrations will take place Thursdays, April 1st, 8th, and 15th @ 11:30. Mrs. Kiehl and Ms. Flournoy will demonstrate the dissections of a cow eye, sheep heart, and frog. The demonstrations are mostly directed toward upper grade and High School students.

If you'd like your student to dissect along with Mrs. Kiehl and Ms. Flournoy to get the HANDS-ON experience, please look below at the items that will be needed to do so. Bringing these items is not required to be in the club. The students may come and enjoy watching the demonstration as well. In addition to the below items, you will also want dissecting scissors, pins, and either a dissecting probe or toothpick.

Dissection Supplies (Not Required To Attend The Club):

April 1

There are 3 options for items to purchase from Carolina Biological supply:

During the dissection demonstration, Mrs. Kiehl and Ms. Flournoy will be dissecting a 4-5" frog with injection.

During the dissection demonstrations, Mrs. Kiehl and Ms. Flournoy will be referencing the following printouts on the Club Hub:
