Current Updates From Our School Administration

Hello Wonderful Families,
Staying healthy is priority number one! As a school, we are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and what we can do to help keep everyone healthy.


Please see the school reopening update from our school administration in response to Governor Newsom's order issued on July 17th. This letter was emailed school-wide by our Principal.

Back to School ~Virtual~ Ice Cream Social!

First Day of School Celebration!


We would like to kick off the 2020-21 school year with a "Virtual" Ice Cream Social and a School Spirit Week Event.


Please join us for our "Virtual" Ice Cream Social on Monday, August 17th at 11:00 am.


You will receive the Zoom Link from your HST.


Here is the scoop on what to bring to the "Virtual" Ice Cream Social.

(If you do not want to make the ice cream virtually, you can bring already made ice cream or a snack to enjoy. )


- One Gallon Ziplock Bag

- Two Quart sized Ziplock Bags

- Two Tablespoons of Sugar

- One Cup of Half and Half or for a dairy-free option: One CUp of Almond Milk

- 1/2 Cup of Rock Salt

"Add-ins" if you would like: cut up strawberries, chocolate syrup, chocolate chips, etc.


We can't wait to celebrate with you!

The South Schools' Family Liaisons are joining together to bring our families 'Themed Curriculum Weeks!' Each week has its theme; All-In-One Curriculum, Math, Language Arts, History, Science, and Subscription Boxes. You can find the dates and links in the flyer above for these.

Throughout each themed week, we are scheduling webinars with curriculum companies to share more about their product. Check out the schedule below - we are adding more every week!

ChoicePlus Academy MIDDLE SCHOOL

ChoicePlus Academy MIDDLE SCHOOL

Hi 7th and 8th-grade Students,


We have been so successful with our Choice Plus Academy classes for high school students, we have decided to offer them to 7th and 8th-grade students as well. This platform allows students to meet virtually weekly with the same instructor and the same group of students. They will have a dedicated teacher who assigns, collects, and grades all work.


This is a great option for students who would like to be independent or parents who would like a teacher to take over a particular subject. It also works well for students who like the "classroom" environment. Let your teacher know if you're interested!

CPA courses are taught live by highly qualified teachers (HQTs), and are comprehensive and meet state and Common Core standards.


What these courses include:


1. A live online teacher 1-2 times per week at a scheduled time teaching live online lessons.


2. That live teacher oversees your student’s progress and provides office hours if they have questions about their lessons.


3. That live teacher will help grade your student's work.


This is a great new option for our families with middle schoolers!

2020/21 Online Subscription Package Offerings!

2020-21 ONLINE SUBSCRIPTION PACKAGE (OSP)


This year, all students will receive a grade-level subscription package. Families will not be required to opt-in or opt-out; the subscriptions will automatically be set-up with the student's school email address, and detailed information and login information will be emailed to the parent and Homeschool Teacher (HST).

Hi everyone! I am a mom of 3 awesome kids ranging in age from 12 to 8 years old. My husband and I are high school sweethearts and have been married for 17 years. Having homeschooled our children over the last 8 years in 3 different states, I've found homeschooling here in California, especially with Mission Vista Academy, has been a great fit for our homeschool journey. I am grateful for our ability to homeschool so freely and I aspire to assist other families with their own homeschool adventures!

Hi there! I am a mom of two girls, 10 and 11 years old, and have been homeschooling from the start. I am also the wife of a very supportive hubby of almost 14 years. We are raising our children in the Coachella Valley and excited to see how the homeschooling community has grown in our area, as well as the resources.
