Dear Pawsome Loring Families,

It has been so wonderful having our students and teachers back in the building this week! As I walked through the hallways, classrooms, and lunchroom, I observed laughter, excitement, and fun! It was great to see classroom communities being developed, new friendships forming, and our pawsome community together! We will see our complete school community on Wednesday, September 8th when our kindergarten students join us for their official first day!

Webinar: Why & How to Talk to Kids about Microaggressions

I wanted to share a webinar that is coming up on September 14th at 8:30 p.m. I will share out the recording in my next newsletter for those that aren't available on the 14th. As I have shared in previous newsletters, EmbraceRace is a great organization that provides many resources for parents, grandparents, or caregivers of young children.

COVID Readiness Form - Please Complete

Thanks to everyone that has already completed the COVID Readiness form. If you have not, please click here and complete the form. Our hope is to begin weekly surveillance testing next week.

Walker Dismissal

Students will meet families on the hill near the baseball field or near the flagpole, depending on which way you walk home.

If you walk through the path across from Loring or walk towards Landham Road, you should meet your child near the flagpole. If you walk towards Alta Road, you should meet your child near the baseball field hill.

Please remind your child to check out with the staff member before meeting up with their adult or walking home.

Car Arrival and Dismissal

Please remember that you should be entering the car line near the baseball field and not the main entrance to the school, this is for arrival and dismissal.

For dismissal, the gate opens at 2:00 p.m. each day. Please do not plan to arrive at school before 2:00 p.m. or you will be blocking the exit to our school.

Please also remember that all cars need to remain in the car line as we load and unload students. You should not get out of line to go around a car in front of you unless you are directed by a staff member or police officer. Please be patient and keep safety our first priority.

Dismissal Changes and Reporting an Absence

To change your child's dismissal during the day, please email loring_office@sudbury.k12.ma.us or call 978-579-0870. It is important to let the office know of dismissal changes by 1:00 p.m. each day.

If your child will be out of school, please call the absence line at 978-579-0870 and press 1 by 7:30 a.m. Your message should include your child's name, teacher, and the reason for the absence.
