Message From Principal Danzy:
Greetings Vista Grande Family,
We hope that everyone has plans in place and that your turkey day has been finalized with breakfast, 2nd breakfast, lunch, dinner, and 2nd dinner menus. You get to watch football and love on the ones that love you most. Enjoy your days off and let us return refreshed and ready to end the semester on positive note.
Student highlight: Vista Grande High School and Melani Peters
Congratulations to Vista Grande High School to be voted as Greatest of the Grande. It is a pleasure to work for the students, staff, and community of Vista. It is because of the students and staff that enjoy attending and working here that this has happened. Each and every one of you are amazing.
Melanie Peters is a freshman volleyball player for the Spartan Volleyball team, she is the libero. Her favorite hobby is playing volleyball as she is also a member of the Club Rain volleyball team. Loves to spend time with her parents and is looking forward to volunteering at the local animal shelter.

ACT Aligned Benchmarks and Progress Checks In order to support all of our students in meeting college and career readiness benchmarks measured by the ACT our students are taking regular assessments to measure their progress. Progress checks are administered every two weeks and we will be recognizing students who score at least 5/6 on these assessments. Our next full-length benchmark is scheduled for January. Students can access their scores on these assessments using these instructions.
Blackboard Access Families are encouraged to log into Blackboard to support your student’s academic progress. In Blackboard, you will be able to review your student’s classes, check assignments completed and better understand what they are learning in class. Please ask your student for their password information in order to access. If you need support in accessing your student’s password, please call (520)374-7170

We have an app for that!
Do you want real time information about attendance and grades for your student? You can
easily access using the PowerSchool App. Stay on top of assignments and participate
more fully in your student's daily progress with the PowerSchool App. Students can
download and use it too!
1. Download from your app store.
2. Enter the District Code: QJDT.
3. Enter your username and password. This will be the same username and password you use to access the web-based PowerSchool Parent Portal.

What's Cookin Mr. Danzy?
Homemade Cranberry Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of sugar or sugar substitute
- 1 cup of water
- 4 cups (one 12-ounce package) fresh or frozen cranberries
- the zest of one orange
- Directions:
- Remove bruised and damage cranberries and rinse
- Boil sugar and water add the cranberries and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes or until the cranberries burst.
- add the zest and stir
- Let cool and enjoy
