Lincoln Middle School -- Weekend Update
Hello Lincoln Community,
October 19 was the last day of Quarter 1. For Quarter 2, all students will have a different broad experience class, and some students may have a change in Spanish/French, PE, or broad experience class depending on whether CSO or MTSS/Reading/Math Support classes were added or dropped. Please note that all schedule changes can be viewed in the PowerSchool Portal by clicking "My Schedule" and "Matrix View." Report Cards are not sent home except for the final Report Card in June. To view the Quarter 1 Report Card, please log into the PowerSchool Portal. Report Cards will be available for viewing starting on Friday, October 27.
Health education classes begin for some PE classes during Quarter 2. Lessons incorporate the Illinois Health Standards. Please get in touch with your child's PE teacher if you have any health curriculum questions.
On behalf of the entire staff and student body, we would like to acknowledge the Lincoln PTO's Color Run Event on Thursday afternoon! It was a great fundraiser (and fun-raiser), and everyone who participated had a great time. The PTO's efforts to raise funds to help support our programming and enhance our students' middle school experience are sincerely appreciated, and we thank our PTO for their commitment to Lincoln Middle School.

Student Council Halloween Costume Contest
Student Council is hosting a Halloween Costume Contest on Tuesday, October 31st. Come to school decked out in your Halloween costume. Your costume must be school-appropriate--no masks, no weapons, and nothing bloody or violent. Your costume must not disrupt the learning environment. Your first-period teachers will vote on the best costume in their class, and then our administrators will pick the winners from the semi-finalists. There will be one winner per grade level. Winners will receive bragging rights, a mystery prize bag, a gift card, an awesome trophy, and their photo on the Student Council Wall of Fame.
Halloween Costume Guidelines
- Please refrain from wearing masks as part of your costume.
- Weapons or items resembling weapons are not permitted.
- Costumes featuring bloody, violent, and/or gory elements are not allowed.
- Halloween attire doesn't have to be a full costume. You can opt for orange and/or black clothing or show support by wearing a favorite sports team jersey.
- Any costume that causes disruptions in the learning environment will not be allowed.
School Reminders . . .
- NO SCHOOL on Conference Day: November 1, 2023.
- PICTURE RETAKES are scheduled for November 8, 2023, in the morning.
- SPIRIT WEAR and PICTURE PROOF SHEETS were distributed to students on Monday, October 16. Students should have brought these items home sometime this past week.
- All items remaining in the LOST AND FOUND will be donated to charity on Friday, 10.27.23. Please remind your students to stop by sometime before then to look for any missing items.
- Fall has arrive and students should dress appropriately for the weather. Temperatures fluctuate and it is important to be prepared. Keeping a sweatshirt or jacket in a locker going forward would be a great idea. Students are not be permitted to return to their lockers during their lunch periods. Come to lunch prepared.
- Doors open and student supervision begins at 7:38 a.m., even during undesirable weather conditions. If it is raining or extremely cold outside, the doors will open at 7:30 a.m. and students will need to wait just inside the doors. Knowing that the cold weather is here, students should wear appropriate clothing to wait outside.
