Tuberculosis (Mycobacterium Tuberculosis, TB) (Bacterium)
This outlaw mainly targets the immune system. Its only infection is the Latent TB infection. It is found entering through the air.
Tuberculosis mainly targets people with medical conditions that weaken the immune system, like HIV. People who work in hospitals, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, nursing homes, and residential homes should be extra careful and avoid people with TB.
People with the latent TB infection do not have any symptoms, but people with the actual disease have many symptoms, including fever, fatigue, and chronic coughing with phlegm or sometimes even blood. TB also causes heavy chest pain and loss of muscle.
Use airborne precautions and avoid people with TB. Bacille Calmette-Guerin (BCG) is the TB vaccine and is mainly used for people with weakened immune systems. It usually works, but in the case that you do contract TB, the doctor will prescribe you with medications (isoniazid, rifampin, ethambutol, pyrazinamide).
