100% EVERY DAY

At Dixons Kings, we live by our core values. Integrity is always doing the right thing and keeping true to your moral principles. Diligence is the necessity of giving attention to detail in order to avoid error and overcome obstacles. Finally, Civility is about showing everyone consideration and respect. Our appreciations newsletter celebrates the members of our academy family who exhibit these values and climb the mountain to success. We also champion the family members who, during their climb, have shown themselves to be unique, ambitious and creative.

Year 7 Student Appreciations!

Miss Gayle

7B3 - for discussing their reading books in the library and encouraging others to choose books they will enjoy.

Miss Hickey

Please can I appreciate the winners of the brainteaser this week.

Answer: There are 360 in total. 7 parts of that 360 are doctors and 11 parts of that 360 are nurses. There are 18 parts in total. To work out 1 part we divide 360 by 18 and then to work out the number of nurses we multiply by eleven.

360 ÷ 18 = 20 x 11 = 220

There are 220 nurses (and 140 doctors).

Students awarded with positives this week are:

Hamza Karim 7.6, Mohammad Ashhal Siqqiqui 7.6, Raiyan Khan 7.1, Ishan 7.1, Salahuddin Jabbar 7.3

Ms Knowles

Miss Lopez

7E because they have been working really hard and understanding some really complex grammar.

Dr Jennings

The group we took on the trip last Friday. Zarah, Adam, Salahuddin, Isa, Murtaza, Muaawiyah, Hasan.

They were incredibly mature and troopers in the face of typical British weather, they were polite, grateful and curious, asking thoughtful questions throughout the day and carrying out tasks with accuracy.

I was incredibly proud of the way that they represented themselves and our school.

Miss Peake

My 7E Drama class for their brilliant practical work yesterday on Commedia Dell Arte. Their enthusiasm and exaggeration was extremely comedic and enjoyable to watch! Keep up the good work.

Also, Yusuf Shah for making a better start to this half term. Although he has a little way to go, I acknowledge that he is making steps to improve his work ethic and I have personally noticed his efforts to be more civil around the school.

Miss Stein

Please can I appreciate Esah Ahmed for another fantastic week. He is the student who has received the most positives in our form for the last two weeks. He has done superbly - even when times have been tough this week - we're all just so impressed with him. Keep up the amazing work Esah!

Parent Notices

Please note that it is parental responsibility to inform the Academy of changes to addresses or telephone numbers so that we can keep our records up to date, however the Academy cannot put any of the changes onto your Parent Pay accounts, this has to be done by you as the account holder. It is important that you do this immediately as your details change so that you can receive important text messages and letters sent to you via Parent Pay.

Family Dining

We are very proud that our year 7 and 8 students dine together every day. Family dining gives students a chance to demonstrate integrity, diligence and civility while eating together with their tutors. They serve each other; clean up together and get a chance to talk about their journey up the mountain of success!

Two Claps on Three!

To show our appreciation, we give our family members 'two claps on three'. Here are year 7 demonstrating it!
