Teacher Spotlight
Mrs. Julie Zemojtel
Julie Zemojtel teaches Honors and regular CTE Allied Health Biology at Lake Havasu High School. She also serves as a co-advisor for the HOSA “Future Health Professionals” Club.
Julie has been employed by the Lake Havasu Unified School District for the past 27 years, and has taught general science, anatomy & physiology, integrated science, honors biology, and traditional biology in addition to her current CTE Allied Health Biology teaching assignment.
She began teaching the CTE Allied Health Biology classes and leading the HOSA “Future Health Professionals” Club in the fall of 2020. She has had a wonderful experience nurturing her students' love of all things biology, and health professions related ever since. As a HOSA “Future Health Professionals” Club advisor, she has seen her students capture 1st place in Regional competitions, place in the Top 3 at the State level competition, and have six students qualify to advance to the International level of competition, which has been absolutely thrilling.
Julie continues to look forward to more exciting anatomy dissections in the CTE Allied Health biology classroom, as well as the competitive event season for HOSA for many more years to come!

Marketing - Student Council State Convention
Our Marketing students recently attended the Student Council State Convention for AASC.
This year’s theme for the event was ‘The Nature of Leadership’. They were able to participate in a variety of team bonding and leadership workshops. They got to hear from excellent keynote speakers who touched on ideas ranging from the importance of kindness, to the importance of our voices being heard, and finishing with the importance of safe driving. They were able to take home great new ideas that we are looking to incorporate here at Lake Havasu High School.
The students were inspired to find ways to make sure that we are a school that cares about kindness. They also discussed the idea of bringing a motivational speaker to our students so that they can also hear the heartfelt words shared with us at our convention. It was amazing getting to see them in that environment filled with other student leaders who all want to learn new ways to make their schools better for ALL students.
FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America)
The Business class FBLA officers went to the Monday Rotary meeting to present current club activities. The students spoke about the Phoenix Suns game they attended, the Fall Fun Fest they participated in, the FLEX conference in Phoenix, the regional competition in Phoenix and the upcoming state leadership conference in Tucson. The officers answered questions from the Rotary members and at the end, the club was presented with a sizeable donation to help towards travel expenses.
