The Skipper Scoop

Week of February 18th

Happy President's Day Fairport. I hope the weekend treated you well and you are recharged to start the week. If you haven’t yet heard, our boys bowling team is headed to the state championship in March! FHS is so proud of these young men. Thank you Coach Rich and Coach Chipps for your guidance and support. I will share more details when I have them about times for the tournament.

Harding has a busy week with Olympic Day as well as ACT day on Wednesday. The schedule for the day is found below. I love that our Juniors get to to take the ACT ( for free!) at their home school with their own teachers. It's great practice and offers a glimpse into what's to come for our soon to be Seniors!

Have a great and productive week Skipper family.

Ashtabula Marine Museum

This week Mr. HItes and Ms. Baldree took a trip to the Ashtabula Marine Museum. They learned all kinds of cool things about Lake Erie- It's the shallowest of the Great Lakes!

Favorite quotes from the trip- "I learned that port side is left, starboard is right and there are two notches on a ships wheel" (Jeremy.) "I never saw the inside of a pilot house of a ship and that was pretty awesome" (David.)

Thanks for sharing Mr. Hites!

Thank You Band Boosters!

New band uniforms are coming our way! Our wonderful group of Harding Band Boosters worked tirelessly to raise over $13,000.00 towards the cost of new uniforms. Our Board of Education generously voted to match the funds that were raised. This type of collaboration is truly what sets this school district apart from any other. Thanks to the Boosters, the Board, the Band kiddos, and the Ruzin family. It literally takes a village!

Skipper Sock Sale

Mrs. Knight is taking orders for Skipper socks! Only $13 a pair to own such a fashion statement. Follow the link for more information.

Valentine's Day

It was a sweet week at Harding. The middle school dance was hosted by the Junior class and it was a blast! I have never chaperoned a middle school dance where the entire gym was singing along to Abba?!?

Junior class also sold sweet treats, the art classes sold Hamster-grams, and Project Hope sold candy grams.
