Save the Date

We are planning an exciting event for ALL school parents and students to learn about what comes after Pilgrim, when our wonderful children enter high school!

High school is a topic on everyone’s mind, so we will get the scoop straight from the experts – our panel of Pilgrim alums now in high school.

Pilgrim students routinely go on to some of the best high schools in Chicago. How do they find a good fit? How does Pilgrim prepare them? What is their advice for younger students?

Please join us on Monday, Oct. 26 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Maring Hall for a panel discussion featuring recent Pilgrim grads who now attend a variety of area high schools, such as Northside, Payton, Whitney Young, Jones, Lane, Lincoln Park, Amundsen, Von Steuben and DePaul College Prep. We'll talk about the admissions process, and then hear straight from the teenagers themselves about what their days are like, how they transitioned to high school from Pilgrim, and more!

Music is filling the halls. Pilgrim Band has started! The first day of band was Thursday, September 24th. Band is open to all students in Grades 4-8. The cost for band is $275 per child per semester. If your child would like to be in band, please contact Ms. Ouida Zaporta at euph25@gmail.com. Ms. Zaporta did her undergraduate and graduate work at the University of Texas. Her own instrument is the euphonium, a member of the horn family. In addition to working at Pilgrim, Ms. Zaporta is teaching band to elementary school students through a program at Ravinia. She has extensive experience working with middle school band. Please note that Luther North has discontinued its elementary school band program, so Ms. Zaporta is working under contract solely to Pilgrim.
