Time is starting to run out for you to purchase yearbooks. You have about 6 weeks left (end of March). There will be NO EXCEPTIONS made for late orders. We did order extra last year, but we ran out quickly and had some disappointed kids.

Needs in our classroom:

We are in need of white copy paper. If you could donate a pack of paper, that would be greatly appreciated!

Also, we need pencil top erasers if you come across any!

MAPS TESTING:

Dear Parents,

Students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade will take MAP Primary tests in Reading and Math beginning March 5th and continuing through March 25th. These tests determine your child’s instructional level and measure academic growth throughout the school year. For specific testing dates for your child’s class please inquire with your child’s teacher.

MAP Primary tests are unique in that they are adaptive tests your child takes on a computer. That means that the test becomes more difficult the more questions your child answers correctly. When your child incorrectly answers a question, the test becomes easier. Therefore, your child takes a test specifically created for his or her learning level. In addition, your child will have the opportunity to learn the information presented on the test because the tests are aligned with the Common Core Standards

For more information on resources for parents, access www.nwea.org and download the online Parent Toolkit from the web site. Thank you for taking an active interest in your child’s education.

If you have any questions, please contact Rhonda Kelsey at 985-1616.

Sincerely,

Rhonda Kelsey

Assistant Principal

February 28-March 8, I will be gone for my wedding and honeymoon. If you need anything, you can send an email to my email: mgallowa@rhmail.org and Ms. Wilson will have access to it, you can email her at wilsona16@winthrop.edu or call the front office at 985-1600. Ms. Wilson is still full time teaching so she will be teaching and a sub will be here for part of the time I am gone. She is doing a great job so I feel very confident in leaving your babies in her hands. I will return to work on Monday, March 11 as Mrs. Clontz!
