TMEA All-State Auditions

Please wish our All-State students good luck as they participate in District Auditions tomorrow morning at Oak Ridge High School! Most of these musicians have been working since July on this music and we finally get to begin round 1 out of 4 on the road to All-State. Treble Choir Rehearsal

The treble choirs from Kleb Intermediate will combine with all of our treble singers for a joint performance at our Fall Concert on September 26. This includes KHS choir members in Bella Voce (4th period), Liederkranz (5th period), and all sopranos/altos in Chorale (3rd period). To prepare for this collaboration, we are holding a mandatory rehearsal for all who are involved on Thursday, September 21 from 5-7:30pm in the KHS Choir room.

This event is more than just a rehearsal. The evening will include music, games, and pizza! Our singers involved will also receive their Treble Choir t-shirt that day!

FACE - A World Of Song

The Klein High Chorale will be performing at A World of Song Concert at the Centrum on Saturday, September. Students will combine with other choirs across the district as they are conducted by Dr. Kristina MacMullen from Baylor University.

The concert is a ticketed event, so be sure to buy your tickets ahead of time. Students not in Chorale, this is a concert you will want to attend! To purchase concert tickets, a discount code has been set up for the event for students, family members and Klein ISD faculty. Ticket Discount code: MacMull3n. Formal Choir Uniform Info

Don't forget to secure the following uniform components listed below. Our concerts are major exam grades for choir students, and being in the correct uniform correlates with their grade. If you need any assistance in finding the correct items, please email Mr. Stultz or Mrs. Berger.

Dresses - black, closed-toed, comfortable dress shoes are also needed for our performances. Flats or character shoes are preferred.
Tuxedos - a white tuxedo shirt, black dress shoes, black bowtie, and black cummerbund are also needed for our performances. You can get most of these items in a bundle on Amazon HERE.

Music Major For A Day

For any juniors and seniors who are considering a degree in music (performance, education, composition, etc), The University of Houston and Sam Houston State University have some events coming up that could be incredibly beneficial. Both schools offer a version of "being a music major for the day" in addition to some helpful masterclasses on music and what the timeline looks like when you are applying to college. Fall Concert

Our first concert of the year is coming up fast! The Fall Concert is on Tuesday, September 26 at 7pm in the Klein HS Auditorium. Students will receive 2 major grades for this performance. The call time for all students is 6pm dressed in their formal choir uniform in the auditorium. More info will be shared in class as we get closer to the date.

Choir Spirit Night at Double Dave's Pizza

Our Booster Club has organized our first spirit night of the year for Monday, September 25 at Double Dave's Pizza (7312 Louetta Rd) from 5-9pm. Stop by for some dinner that night and mention Klein High Choir! This acts as one of several spirit night fundraisers for our choir program. We would appreciate your support!

Orlando Trip Meeting

For any upperclassmen (11th & 12th grade) students and parents who are interested in going on our trip to Orlando this spring, we are having an interest/info meeting via Microsoft TEAMS on Tuesday, September 19 6:30-7:00pm. This meeting will cover costs, details of the trip, expectations for the trip, and more. A link will be sent out next Monday to all classes via Remind with info on how to join the virtual meeting on September 19. The spring trip for upperclassmen is March 7-12 and the underclassmen trip to Dallas, Texas is April 19-20 (more info on that trip soon.)
