Bearcat Praises
Thank you so much to EVERYONE who made our first round of boot camps a tremendous success! We had some amazing activities planned for our students and I heard so many positive comments from students and teachers alike. I completely understand that undertaking this is for everyone involved but it truly helps to relax our students and involves them in learning activities that are both fun and productive. There is no doubt your hard work truly does pay off!
Thank you so much to all our parents and especially to our awesome PTO for organizing our Cookies with Mom and Teacher Luncheon for the last two weeks. Both events turned out great and we truly appreciate all their help and support!
Thanks so much to all our 6th Grade teachers and especially Mr. Johnson and Mr. Warren who helped start the process on our students getting ready for next year! I'm sure for many of you it's hard to believe we are about to send our 6th graders off to the middle school! I feel so confident about them going over next year and have no doubts because of all your hard work that they are ready to make that transition! I also want to thank them for the great time they allowed our students to have at the medieval times field trip last week. They did a great job spending time in class building students background knowledge prior to the trip and then making a real life connection to the material during. Awesome job by everyone involved.
Thank you Ms. Nisbett for helping organize our many trips that we have coming up! She led the parent meeting Tuesday night for the Austin trip and has done a tremendous job making preparations for the 3rd grade UNT trip and the 5th grade Texas A&M Commerce trip. She definitely has about 10 plates spinning at once and manages to pull it off each time! Thanks so much for all you do Margie!
Thank you so much to our AMAZING 3rd grade teachers who are taking the initiative to stay after school for tutoring and even coming up on Saturday to make sure their kids are fully prepared for the upcoming STAAR test. They are a truly remarkable team and are doing everything they can to give their students the best chance to shine in May!!
Lastly, thank you all for all your hard work turning in your T-TESS evidence binders! The ones I have seen so far have been absolutely amazing. As I've said, it's so hard for me to be able to see all the great things you are doing with your kids and it's been incredible to go back and through. I hope that you are finding it beneficial as well. I really do appreciate you taking the time to put these together and it makes me so proud to see the incredible things you are guys are doing with our kids.
Bootcamp Fun!

STAAR Reminders
Also, please remind your parents that we are considered a closed campus on STAAR testing days. This means that we will not be allowing outside visitors to enter the campus. They may bring lunches but we are not allowing anyone to eat with students on these days. Thank you for helping get the word out on this.
Lastly, please double and triple check your room roster and make sure that you are clearly aware of what accommodations your students are allowed to have on each test. Remember, ALL 4th and 5th Graders who are taking the reading and writing test MAY use a dictionary this year. We have enough for each student have their own so please ensure that they are available to all students for the test.
