News from the Principal's Office
A&M Consolidated High School
Welcome Back
Each New Year provides us an opportunity to leave mistakes behind and create a fresh start. May we have a renewed sense of purpose and passion to help ALL students push themselves to unbelievable levels. I reflected on various instructional practices, discipline data and attendance data from the first semester, and we are making gains in several areas. I appreciate your willingness to develop and design lessons that are engaging, research-based, and challenging. You have power and you have influence, and I am hopeful for the opportunities that are in store for us at AMCHS in 2017.
The A-F rating systems are based solely on once-per-year standardized test scores and do not measure how schools are really performing. Research supports schools with a high number of disadvantaged students are likely to fare the worst under this system. AMCHS ratings [B-C-D-D] are not indicative to whom we are and does not accurately measure the quality education students receive. We will continue to analyze our data and make decisions that will enhance student achievement.
