Wallace Weekly

February 8th - February 12th

Weekly Recap

TGIF!!! It has been a crazy, busy week. It will be nice to finish up the fourth six weeks, won’t it? However, that means we only have 16 weeks of school left!!! Only 16 weeks to help students reach the 1 year+ growth we want for every student.

A few important announcements:

*We just received the agenda from the district for February 15. I will send an email with you before Monday afternoon, informing you of where and when you will need to report that day.

*I will send out an email regarding Saturday School before Monday afternoon. It is important for all 3rd-6th grade teachers, ESL and resource teachers to read the email.

*Do not park on Estate or Kirkhaven. I have received several phone call/complaints from neighbors regarding this. We have teachers’ parking lot that was expanded last year to accommodate the entire staff. The back parking lot is reserved for administrators, executive assistant, SDS, PACE director, custodians, and cafeteria staff.

*Fifth and sixth grade students will be taking a student engagement survey within the next 2 weeks. ALL 5th and 6th grade students will be required to take the survey in the lab. Melodi will be arranging time slots for those grade levels.

Tanisha, Lauren, and I are looking forward to sharing some love and joy with you next week---see week two of the Wallace Ten Days of Love and Joy calendar!!

XO, Debbie

Spotlight On...

  • What an awesome 100 Day Celebration! Thank you August, April, Gina, Stephanie, and Tami for working so hard to prepare your students to be successful in math over the past 100 days. All of the time and energy that went into organizing, planning, and carrying out this event really goes to show how passionate you are about your kindergartners and their education.
  • Spotlight from the differentiation action team! Check out Beth Prices class during math today. I walked in and every single kid was so engaged in their math activity! (Amazing!) Whether doing independent work, centers, or the working at teacher table they were all doing activities appropriate for where they are academically and loving every minute of it! Way to go Mrs. Price!
