Principal's Message
Dear Vista Families,
The recent tragedy at Robb Elementary School in Texas has weighed heavily on our hearts and minds. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families. Earlier this week, Dr. Wilson sent a message to our families regarding helpful tips and resources with speaking to your child about this horrific event. Please know we are here to help and support you and our students. Please do not hesitate to reach out for support.
Here are some key points to keep in mind when speaking with your child about school shootings and violence.
· Try and keep routines as normal as possible. Children gain security from the predictability of routine, including attending school;
· Limit exposure to tv and the news;
· Listen to their fears and concerns and provide reassurance;
· Be aware of and assess your own responses to crisis and stress, seek support if needed.
There is no school on Monday, May 30th, in observance of Memorial Day. Our Chipotle Night is scheduled for June 1st from 4-8pm (see the flier below). We hope to see you there!
Stay Vista Strong,
Mrs. Nuanes
