Principally Speaking - Mr. Frydman
My name is Mr. Frydman and I am the proud principal of Desert Heights Elementary School. This will be my 2nd year at Desert Heights but I am starting my 11th year as principal and my 26th year in education.
I hope everyone is having an amazing summer. It's hard to believe the 2021-22 school year will be beginning in the next 3.5 weeks. We have been busy planning for the upcoming school year. Our school is currently being remodeled with brand new flooring in the school. Every classroom will have new carpeting, some classrooms will be receiving new tile, and the main hallways will now have polished concrete. In addition, all of the bathrooms will have new epoxy flooring. This will be done prior to the beginning of school. Please see below for pictures.
You should be receiving who your teacher is for the upcoming school year in the next week or so. We know there are times that some families would prefer a specific teacher. While we understand this, we will not be making any changes until after the state Count Day in September. The reason for this is because we might have to adjust our classes at that point. We might have to gain another teacher in a grade level with too many students. In a grade level that has too few students, we might have to move students into an existing teacher's classroom. So changes can be made at that time.
Here is some important information about this upcoming school year:
Currently, we are waiting on guidance on what the mask mandate will be in the district. Once I find out, I will make sure our community knows.
We want to welcome our new families who have been rezoned to Desert Heights Elementary School from Silver Lake. I will be setting up a virtual Q & A on July 28th at 3pm. The information for the meeting is below.
