Nuts & Bolts

5 More Days!
Thank you all for attending the staff end of year party yesterday. I know that everyone is busy with family functions and wrapping up the school year and I was most appreciative of those who came to support their colleagues.
Thank you for your attendance and support at 9th grade graduation. Thank you for your flexibility this week as we had several tours and interviews cycle through your classrooms. Thank you for your patience as we had field day indoors this year. I am so happy that we even had the space this year for indoor events to be a possibility.
Thank you for keeping students engaged in meaningful work this week, in these last few days. You know what they say about idle hands . . . they end up in the front office.
The end of year checklist is much the same as last year and will be passed out tomorrow.
For professional development next week, please plan on being engaged in professional activities on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then, you will have Thursday and Friday to work in your classrooms.
Have a smooth week, great PTCs, and a relaxing holiday weekend,
René

Last Day of School Schedule
The GOAL for implementing this plan is to only have half of the student population roaming (supervised) at a time through school.
9:00-9:30am
- LE stays in their classrooms getting class signatures
- UE is free to travel through the school getting signatures from outside their class
- UE staff - either the teacher or assistant position themselves outside the classroom in the halls and common areas of their side to supervise roaming students
- JH students are free to travel through school getting signatures
9:30-10:00am - Inside School
- UE stays in their classrooms getting class signatures
- LE is free to travel through the school getting signatures from outside their class
- LE staff - either the teacher or assistant position themselves outside the classroom in the halls and common areas of their side to supervise roaming students
- JH students are free to travel through school getting signatures
Friday, May 24th Kickball Game & Capture the Flag
The GOAL for implementing this plan is for 9th grade to feel like the end of MMA, instead of the 6th grade students vs. staff game to feel like the end, in an attempt for students to feel and assume that they will continue on at MMA through junior high. This plan also serves as a transition for 6th graders to mingle and team build with 7th and 8th graders.
10:00 -11:30am - Outside School
- JH game staff vs 9th grade
- Two JH advisories including 6th graders play each other in Capture the Flag (6th graders will join the advisories in which they were paired during their bridging ceremonies to play).
- Staff are free to play kickball vs. 9th graders, sign yearbooks, and supervise all parts of the playground area.
- Kinder through 5th graders are free to get yearbooks signed, watch the games, or play on the playground.
