October is Bullying Prevention Month!
What is Bullying?
- Happens over a period of time and is repeated
- Intent to embarrass, ridicule, and/or harm
If you think you or someone you know is being bullied, please seek out a trusted adult and report.
Students in the Automotive Technology program gain training and experience in the principles of automotive diagnosis and repair. Students study braking systems, steering and suspension, all-wheel alignment, engine repair and basic electricity including starting and charging systems.
The entire Auto class has already earned 2 IRC's(Industry Recognized Credentials):
S/P2 - Safety and Pollution Prevention. This is a program that is specifically designed for Automobile Technicians - teaching them how to be safe in a shop environment and how to keep themselves and the environment safe when working with various fluids and chemicals.
ALI Lift Training - This is a program from Automotive Lift Institute to train technicians how to safely and properly use Automobile lifts. Along with their hands on training in the shop, students go through the online modules from ALI and then must pass a test at the end of the program.
Both of these programs are valid for one year and are recognized nationally in the Automotive Industry. Most professional shops will require new employees to have, or earn these credentials before starting work. Our students already have them to put on their resume!
