It's not a Secret Club!

With technology becoming more present in the classroom, we need to keep up with the times, and be able to maintain contact with teachers, students, and teachers. This newsletter will update you on what tools your child will be using to understand their course content. We want to reassure you that the classroom is not a secret club between the teacher and the student! We invite you to be included as the year progresses; we encourage you to ask questions, assert your opinions, and be updated on your child's achievements and progress. And technology will allow us all to better prepare your child for furthering their education, and to be equipped for the real world, where every student in the world can be connected!

Your child will be utilizing and incorporating these technological tools in their learning!


Some Questions You May Have....

How will I know my child is receiving a well-rounded education?

We can assure you your child will not being sitting behind a computer all day! We will ensure that your child will still be experiencing a versatile lesson plan, such as physical education, hands-on learning, group work with peers, and participating in the arts. Technology can be incorporated in all these areas, and that is what we want to stress. Technology can be so useful in every aspect of our lives.

How will I know how my child is progressing?

Again, we will be utilizing technology to let parents know how their child is doing. Grades, assignments, upcoming events will be posted online on twitter, blogs, and google docs. There are so many mediums that will be used, it will be difficult to miss out!

What if we don't have a computer or internet access at home?

Your child will have access to computers at school. And also, Wi-Fi is now available in so many locations including your local library - your child can access a lot of these tools with their smart-phones. As technology is becoming more prevalent in our lives, it is also becoming more accessible than you think. Let me know if there are any issues, and we can definitely come up with several options and solutions.
