Let it Snow! Let it Snow!
My favorite new book about the science of snow is The Secret Life of a Snowflake by Kenneth Libbrecht. Many students that I shared this book with enjoyed the author's website. This is a great site to explore on a snowy day. Of course, after you come in from playing in the snow you will enjoy the site! Visit http://www.its.caltech.edu/~atomic/snowcrystals/ Be sure to try the activities for kids link on the right side of the page. There you will find a link to http://snowdays.me/
