Thornhill Elementary PFC Newsletter

Volume 25, Issue 26, March 9, 2018

Principal's Note...

Dear Thornhill Community,

Finally, some rain and snow have come to Northern California! If our young scientists had their way, I'm sure they would be in the Sierras measuring the snow pack and its relevance to our water table. We do need a few more storms.

Auction -- Thank you to everyone who came to the auction. We had some amazing costumes! Your generosity in supporting our school is wonderful, and your contributions help make Thornhill a great school!

Welcome Ms. Fox, Our New Librarian! -- Marie Fox is thrilled to be joining the Thornhill community as our new librarian! A native of Wisconsin, she has called Oakland home for the last 14 years and loves to get kids--including her three daughters--excited about reading! She has spent this year volunteering through the Oakland Ed Fund at various elementary schools across the district by supporting classrooms and libraries. She is passionate about making the library a fun, accessible resource for all children. Please stop by and say hello!

Parent Conference Week -- March 12-16. These are all minimum days and we need everyone to meet with their child's teacher. Please schedule your parent teacher conference ASAP.

Have a great weekend!

Mr. Daubenspeck
