Salem Hyde Family Scoop
March 2022
Message from Principal Groat
When we return from break we will be sending students home with more test kits so student can test the week we return. The test kits were provided by New York State and the results will help Governor Hochul decide whether or not masks will continue to be worn by students and staff.
Please remember that if your child tests positive for COVID please notify our school nurse, Mrs. Domanski. She can be reached at 315-435-4951.
We hope to have more fun activities for students and families so please look for flyers coming home in bookbags as well as messages on Talking Points and our school Facebook page. If you haven't yet followed Salem Hyde on Facebook, please take a minute to follow us www.facebook.com/SalemHydeSCSD.
The Book Fair is Coming!
Please note we are required to collect 8% Sales Tax on all purchases.
After-School Program
Here is a link to our calendar of dates our program is in session:
Attendance Reminder
In order to do their best learning, students need to be in school on time, every day, unless they are sick. If they are sick, please call the office so the absence can be excused. The school day begins at 9:00 a.m., and our doors open at 8:45 a.m.
Please try to avoid early dismissal for your child unless he/she has an appointment. They are missing valuable instructional time when they are picked up early on a regular basis.
National School Social Worker Week
The week of March 7th is National School Social Worker Week.

Valentine's Day Tea Party
Children need inspirational adults/teenagers to look up to, to learn from to aspire to be like. Children often look to movie stars and sports figures, BUT at Salem Hyde the heroes our students got to look up to came directly from their community, Henninger High School students. The Henninger students came to lead classrooms in their Valentine’s Day Manners Tea Parties. These amazing role models made a positive impact on our students that will live in their hearts for years. #SalemStrong #HenningerStrong #Butevenstrongertogether
