A Note from the Desk of Lindsay Pulido
The quote, “we are human be-ings, not human do-ings,” has become a familiar saying for many of us. We have come to the time in the school year that seems to flood our calendars with events, to-dos, obligations, Pinterest projects, all fueled by the almost visceral buzz of frantic energy to get it all done. It seems like the first day of school was last week, yet here we are making Christmas plans before we have even approached the Thanksgiving table!
So as we take a collective breath and prepare ourselves for the tasks ahead, let us remember we are a people set apart. We “know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” We will “enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name” (Psalm 100:3-4).
As a tangible reminder of this truth our PTF (Parent Teacher Fellowship) is putting together an interactive ‘Thankful Tree bulletin board in the elementary hallway near the cafeteria. Students, teachers, and campus visitors are encouraged to stop (very intentionally), take a breath and share what they are thankful for at the Thankful Tree. Consider how the Lord has provided for you in this season and bless the name that endures forever.
Peace & Grace,
Lindsay Pulido

ABC Construction Expo
A few select students got the privilege to attend the ABC Construction Expo this week where they were able to explore various aspects of the construction industry. This event provided them with a unique hands-on learning experience, giving them insight into the different career paths available in this field. By attending this expo, our students were able to broaden their horizons, explore potential career paths, and develop skills that are applicable in various fields. Thank you to ABC Construction for their support and enabling our students to attend this valuable event. These individuals have shown remarkable commitment and determination in their pursuit of literacy and we couldn't be more proud of their achievements. It is through the power of reading that we expand our knowledge, broaden our horizons, and cultivate a lifelong love for learning. Congratulations to: Reagan Shannon, Alivia Henry, Logan Johnson, and Savannah Sikes! Keep up the good work!!
Operation Christmas Child
BCS students have the opportunity to participate in Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan's Purse. For 30 years, Samaritan's Purse has delivered shoebox gifts around the world to 209 million children in 170 countries, even those in war torn regions. In many cases, this is the only gift a child might receive. Participating in Operation Christmas Child is as simple as selecting the gender and age you would like to bless, and then following the printed instructions in the box. A shoebox can be filled for less than $10. Last year BCS students filled 227 boxes. This year we would love to bless 300 children across the globe. Please pray about filling one, two, or three shoeboxes. This is not only an opportunity to share the spirit of charity, it is a great family activity as well. Filled boxes need to be placed on the Operation Christmas Child table by the library or brought to the missions room.
