Breakfast News
When we return from spring break, breakfast will be served to students in the morning when they arrive at school. We will no longer be sending a breakfast home with students at the end of the day for the following morning. During the pandemic, the USDA offered a waiver that allowed school districts to offer alternative methods for serving breakfast, including taking it home at the end of the day. During a recent monitoring visit, the Illinois State Board of Education informed us that the waiver has now expired, and we are required to return to a traditional model for serving breakfast in the morning.
Breakfast will still be free to all students for the remainder of this school year. Students do not need to order breakfast ahead of time. We encourage students to arrive at school by 7:45 am if they will be eating breakfast on that day. Students will pick up breakfast in the cafeteria and take to the classroom to eat. The last day we will send breakfast home at the end of the day is Thursday, March 24.

Mobile Dentist April 6/7 - Deadline Extended!!
Illinois state law requires that all children entering kindergarten, second grade, and sixth grade have an oral health examination. A licensed dentist must perform the dental exam and he/she shall sign and date the report form. Dental offices usually have the form, it can be obtained by clicking here, or by requesting one from your child’s school, or by visiting the d303.org website under Departments, then Health Services. This exam must be completed within 18 months of May 15, 2022.
To assist you in completing this oral health exam for your child, the Mobile Dentist will be on site at Davis on April 6 and Richmond on April 7, provided we have enough students for the Mobile Dentist to come. Please consider taking this opportunity of in-school care at little to no cost to you. The Mobile Dentist accepts Medicaid and private insurance. Self-pay by cash or check for $70 is also available for those without insurance coverage. Services provided are cleaning, screening, sealants, and flouride. Forms have been sent home and are still available in the health office or by clicking www.mobiledentists.com. Please return the form as soon as you can!! Sign up can also be completed online by clicking here: My School Dentist

Caring for Chromebooks at Home
When we return from Spring Break, students will need to bring back their Chromebooks in working order, fully charged, and with headphones. Not only do students use their Chromebooks throughout the day for their lessons, they will also take the IAR assessments on their Chromebooks starting the Tuesday after break.
This week, students reviewed with their teachers their responsibilities for taking care of their Chromebooks. This included:
Continue to follow school expectations for Chromebook use at home.
Follow grown-up directions for using the Chromebook at home.
Keep the Chromebook safe (away from younger siblings, pets, food, etc.).
Thank you for supporting your students to continue to care for their Chromebooks!
State Testing
Please click HERE regarding a letter about this year’s state assessments. Richmond will administer IAR April 5th, April 6th, April 7th, April 12th, April 13th and April 14th. Third, fourth and fifth graders will take three English language arts and three math tests. We will run a slightly different specials schedule during the two weeks of testing. We encourage students to eat breakfast and get a good night’s sleep so they are at their best for their test.
