Use ParentVue to see student schedules, communicate with teachers, view report cards, pay student fees, and certain assessment information, such as Fastbridge.
We encourage ALL parents/guardians to activate their ParentVue account if they have not already done so. If you need assistance, please contact the district Help Desk at hd@d47.org or 815.788.5080.

PUBLIC ACT 102-0340 -MENSTRUAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS
Over winter break, in accordance with Public Act 102-0340, menstrual hygiene products and dispensers were installed in all elementary and middle school restrooms used by District 47 students in grades 4-8. Though a similar bill (Public Act 100-0163) was signed into law in 2017, this more recent law underscores the requirement for free menstrual products to be made available in all restrooms used by students in grades 4-12.
We realize that means that younger children have access to these materials. It would be a good idea to have a conversation with your child that these are in the bathroom for only those students that need it. The dispensers are motion-activated and in both the boys and girls bathrooms. Due to it being a Public Act the school and District need to follow it.
SAFETY PROTOCOLS FOR ENTERING WEST
Just a reminder that if you need to pick up your child early, please send a note or call the office. Sending an email with that information may not be seen due to the teachers teaching during the day or if they have a substitute. As always safety is a priority, so we will remain vigilant with the main entrance doors and foyer doors being closed and locked. This helps us to ensure safety for all.
NO LEFT TURN
LOST AND FOUND
abundance of hats, scarves, mittens, etc. that get dropped or misplaced. Make sure if your student is missing anything that they check the lost and found in the cafeteria. Thank you!
EXTRA FACE MASKS
REMINDER: Inclement Weather
District 47 families received a message in early November about winter weather and planning for possible school closings. Should schools need to close due to inclement weather, District 47 students will be utilizing the emergency “snow day” in the school calendar as we did prior to COVID.
WEATHER GUIDELINES FOR OUTSIDE STUDENT ACTIVITIES
During the cold winter weather, be sure that your child comes to school with appropriate winter coats, hats, gloves, etc. Students go outside daily for lunch recess and need to be dressed for the weather. The guidelines established by District 47 during cold weather are as follows:
Temperature/Wind Chill - Maximum Time Outside
15 degrees or warmer - Unlimited
0 to 15 degrees - 20 minutes
Below 0 degrees - Students remain indoors

WEE DELIVER NEEDS VOLUNTEERS
We have a wonderful in-school mail delivery program. Students can write letters to siblings, friends in other classes, teachers and Whiskers!
Mrs. Hui and Mrs. Womac will be supporting our Wee Deliver Program. However, to make it successful we also need parent volunteers. Any parent who would like to volunteer is welcome! Volunteers will oversee the 3rd and 4th graders and help them with their duties. Wee Deliver is looking for a few more volunteers to help support this wonderful program. We have revamped the schedule to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We are looking for 1-2 volunteers per shift per day to work the same day each week as well as a couple substitutes per day. Please click here to sign up.
If you have any questions, please contact Rachel Hui at rachel.hui@gmail.com.
