Teaching and Learning Through Movement SUMMER BOOK STUDY

Discover the link between physical activity and academic success!

Research shows that regular physical activity helps children perform better in school. This inspiring book is a brain-based approach to teaching and learning that helps move teachers from the traditional role of content provider to learning facilitator. After reading the Kinesthetic Classroom, we will have a better understanding of how the brain learns as well as a working knowledge of a 6-part theoretical framework for thoughtfully and purposefully using movement to increase student achievement. In the book, there is an immense amount of easy to implement strategies for all grade levels and across all content areas. We will dive into the book as well as our curriculum and begin planning HOW we can get our students moving to learn.

If you are interested in joining our book study, you may purchase the book through Amazon or it is also available at most Barnes and Noble Bookstores.

We will begin our study the week of June 5th. Let me know you are IN and I will create a group to share more specific details. As an added BONUS-MIKE HAS OFFERED TO SKYPE! He is so passionate about brain-body connected teaching and learning that he is willing to give of his time to personally connect and help guide us on our journey of becoming facilitators of learning!
