South Fork Elem. Parent Newsletter
October 5-9, 2020
What's happening this week?
We wrap up the first 9 week grading period on Tuesday. Report cards will be sent home on October 16th. Please be sure that you are checking PowerSchool often as that is the best way to see current grades. It is too late at the end of the 9 weeks to pull up low grades. Be sure that you are encouraging your student to do their best everyday. It is much easier to begin with good grades than it is to pull low grades up from incomplete or missing assignments. We are welcoming back many virtual students this week and are eager to see all of our students. As the weather is turning cooler, please remember that jackets must fully zip from top to bottom. Pullovers that do not zip from top to bottom are not permitted in our dress code. Leggings for girls must be solid navy or white. No patterns are allowed. Please write your child's first and last name in their jackets. If your child or any member of your immediate household is tested for COVID, please keep them home until you get the test results. Your help with this is greatly appreciated. If you have not paid your student's supply fee, please pay it as soon as possible. If you have a new address and/or contact numbers, please call the office so we can be sure to get those updated. Be sure that you join the teacher and bus driver REMIND groups and follow our FB page and our school website. We are doing our part to get info out to you so please help us by sharing information and helping us reach all parents.

Virtual Students
We have tried to reach all virtual parents last week. There are still some we are unable to reach by phone or email. If your child is virtual and you have not spoken to Mrs. Thomason or Mrs. Forbes within the last week, please call or email so we can discuss your child's progress. We want to be sure that virtual students are doing ok and making progress in their studies. For those students returning, please be sure that you return the workbooks and supplies when the students return to class. Thank your for your patience, cooperation, and support through this new adventure in education. Virtual instruction is hard-it's not for everyone, and we understand that you are not teachers. We are here to help and welcome those students back to school. Reach out to us so we can help you.
Bus Driver Remind Codes
Please join the REMIND group for your child's bus driver. This is a great way to communicate with your driver. Please remember that they are not allowed to reply during routes and will reply before or after their routes. Text the code for your child's bus to 81010 to join their REMIND group.
