3rd Annual Memorial Super Bowl
All food donations have been calculated and the results have been tallied. Our fourth grade students won the 2020 Souper Bowl. Collectively, they brought in 847 food donations. 1,991 items were donated to the Medway Village Food Pantry during this collection drive. Thanks to all who participated in this community project. Congratulations to our 4th Graders and to the entire Memorial School community for joining together to support this fantastic cause!
School Wide Assembly/ Class Color Day- 3/4
We are excited to announce that Medway resident, “The Machine” Jesse Green will be our featured speaker. Jesse is a world-renowned Master Chainsaw Sculptor, Star of The National Geographic Channel’s worldwide primetime TV series, AMERICAN CHAINSAW, Front-man for Earth’s Greatest Cover Band FEVAH DREAM, an acclaimed motivational speaker and author of the forthcoming trilogy book series, CHAINSAWS, CHEESEBURGERS AND ROCK N’ ROLL. We look forward to welcoming Jesse to Memorial School!
Half Day- Friday, March 13th
On Friday, March 13th, Students will be dismissed at 11:30am so that teachers can participate in an afternoon of professional learning. Please mark this important date on your calendars.

STEM Saturday for Girls
STEM Saturday for Girls- Saturday, March 28th -- Registration Below
Medway Public Schools is excited to announce the Fifth Annual S.T.E.M Saturday for Girls! The event will include opportunities for girls in grades 2 through 6 to participate in a variety of hands on activities to learn and explore different science, technology, and engineering topics. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn from women who have fostered their passion for science, technology, engineering, and math into successful careers in various STEM fields. The event will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2020. Registration opens on Monday, February 24th.
Grades 2-3 : 8:30am-11:05am
Grades 4-6: 8:30-11:40am
PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED as space is limited.
Registration is now open and is on a first come first serve basis.

Book Fair - Week of March 16th
The Scholastic Book Fair will be returning to Memorial School the week of March 16th. Students will have the opportunity to shop for books during the school day. A schedule for student shopping times can be found here. Family shopping will be available during the following dates and times:

BOOK FAIR VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Scholastic Book Fair will be at our school from March 16 to March 20, with a special Family Event scheduled for Thursday, March 19 from 3-7pm. We hope to get volunteers so we can make this the most successful Book Fair ever! Volunteers are needed in shifts to help students select books, total book costs, and any other miscellaneous tasks that may arise. Spring MCAS Dates
Students in grades three and four will participate in MCAS testing this spring. Students in both grades will participate in computer-based English Language Arts (ELA) and Math MCAS assessments.
Below you will find specific test dates for our students. Please make every effort to have your student in school on his/her assessment date.

Weekend Backpack Program
The Weekend Backpack Program provides about 50 Medway students with weekend meals. It is an extension of the Medway Village Food Pantry, a private, non-profit group, which is a member agency of the Greater Boston Food Bank. Please see a list below of needed items and donations in bulk/cases are most helpful. Finally, please see this link for an article in the Milford Daily News.
Suggested donation items include the following:
Fruit cups in 100 percent juice - mixed fruit, peaches, etc.
Individual cups of microwavable Rice-A-Roni
Ready Pasta pouches (Barilla) - rotini, elbows or penne
Individual bags of pretzels - 10-pack or larger
Individual bags of Goldfish crackers - cases of 30
Individual boxes of raisins, packages of six or larger
Boxes of instant oatmeal packets, like Quaker reduced-sugar
Pirate's Booty - cases of 36 individual bags
Nutri-Grain breakfast bars
Nature Valley granola bars
Boom Chicka Pop popcorn, sea salt flavor - cases of 24 individual bags
Residents are also able to donate to the backpack program by purchasing select items at the check-out line at the Shaw’s supermarket in town. You can drop donations off at:

Ice Cream Social & Basket Raffle 3/23
Come chill out with your friends, family and neighbors and try your luck at winning one of over 40 baskets that each classroom has assembled. You can also enjoy a free ice cream sundae in the cafeteria from 5:45 - 6:45 while supplies last.

Ticket sales will end at 6:45, raffle boxes will close at 7 and the raffle fun will start at 7:15!!

- Come on in to the school lobby where our amazing volunteers will be selling basket raffle tickets; place your name and contact info on half of each ticket; then drop one or all of your tickets in the basket you're interested in winning!
- Follow the signs to the cafeteria where special guests will be scooping tasty treats.
All proceeds support the Medway Elementary PTO.

Bib pick up will take place on March 6th from 4-7pm at TC Scoops or the morning of the race at Medway High School.

Important Information for 4th Grade Families
It’s hard to believe that we are so close to our 4th grade students finishing their elementary years! Our Memorial School 4th Grade Sendoff is scheduled for Monday, June 15th 9am-10:30am. Part of the sendoff celebration will include a slideshow of photos covering their Medway school years from kindergarten through fourth grade. To help us collect photos a few parents have volunteered to support each class. Click here to read more about the Send Off celebration and learn how you can submit photos.
