Kitchen Safety
Callie Bless Period 8
Basic Rules
Cooking is fun, but kitchen safety is a priority. We have to think about knives, fire, and bacteria. Observing basic rules of kitchen safety is a good habit to develop. We have to always pay attention to what we're doing in the kitchen because it's so easy to cause serious injuries or accidents.
Knives
Store knives in a wooden block or drawer. Keep them out of the reach of children.
Food
Refrigerate or freeze raw materials quickly so they don't spoil. Separate raw meat and poultry to prevent cross-contamination.
Safety
Invest in a fire extinguisher. Never wear dangling jewelry or loose clothes as this could cause a serious accident.
