Cub Connection
March 14
CELC News & Updates
Hello Creekside Families,
It's the final countdown! We only have a few hours left until we welcome our students to campus 4 days a week. Our Cubs' learning will be in FULL BLOOM! We are excited and ready to welcome all of our in-person students tomorrow! We are expecting over 90% of our Cubs! I am so proud of the work the district, the school sites, and the staff have done leading up to this day. Although we are well planned and prepared, there will likely be a few bumps along the way. To help with our transition into Phase Three, please continue to follow all protocols and be especially up-to-date on our new drop off procedures. Rain or shine, we will begin our new morning procedures.Thank you for your patience during this transition.
Weekly Reminders and Updates:
- Phase Three begins Monday, March 15! Please read the information below regarding changes to student drop off.
- Ms. Ludden, our new teacher, begins on Monday. The first week, she will be helping with drop off, getting to know the students, setting up her classroom, and finalizing her schedule. She will be working to support students in small groups (within the same cohort). Her primary focus will be bridging the learning loss gap.
- Please report all absences to the office. We are required to trace all absences. Illnesses may require a 10-14 day stay at home. All students that are out for any reason will be temporarily assigned to distance learning. They can receive credit for their time off campus if they complete work online.
- The district continues to serve food during our 4-Day Schedule on Mondays from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at JMMS. If that time doesn't work for you, there is also a 5:00 pm pick up.
- Child Nutrition Services offers snack pick up for students at CELC during pick up times. on Mondays. The grab and go snack bag will contain 5 days worth of snacks. This is available to all students 18 and under.
- Join us for VIRTUAL FUN FRIDAYS. See the flyer below for March's schedule. Post pictures using #virtualfunfriday
- The district is still providing free wifi access at CELC, SHES, JMMS, and BOES. Just park in the lot and log in. The wifi name is AlpineUnited and no password is needed.
- The district has tech support available to parents. Please email helpdesk@alpineschools.net with your technology questions.
- Congratulations to the JMMS Engineering Team! We are so proud of you!
I look forward to seeing your Cubs 4 days a week! It has been a little chilly the last few days! Please make sure that your student is dressed for the weather.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ripke
Phase Three AM Drop Off
Please review the IMPORTANT changes to morning drop off:
We are excited to begin welcoming all of our students on campus starting Monday, March 15 (rain or shine). For the safety of students, parents, and staff, drop off procedures are changing for Phase Three. Parents will no longer be able to enter campus in the morning (with the exception of preschool: rooms 1 and 2, and ESS prior to 8:30 am). Please review the map and written directions prior to March 15, 2021. PLEASE also share it with any other family members or friends that share in the responsibility of dropping your student off.
Please note that no changes have been made to drop off times and assigned gates. There are also no changes to pick up times, assigned gates, or procedures. However, please make sure you continue to maintain social distance and only have one adult on campus per student.
Families have two choices at drop off:
Pull up and drop off curbside at designated time/area
Park in the upper lot and walk your student to their gate
Staff members will be out front welcoming and assisting students
Additional staff will be placed on campus between the gate and the classrooms to assist/direct students as needed
There is NO PARKING on the curb in the morning
Parent parking in the upper lot ONLY
Lower lot is open to disabled students/parents ONLY
Drive carefully and slowly move forward and watch for pedestrians
- Pull forward and DO NOT merge out and pass the car line- wait patiently for the line to move forward, even if your child has already been dropped off
Staggered times and gate assignments remain the same. Please ensure that you are arriving within the window and PLEASE do not get in the drop off line prior to your designated time. If you are early, you will be asked to pull forward and either park on the upper parking level and wait, or get back in line. Reminder of times and gates:
Dual Language (DL) Kindergarten: 8:30 am to 8:40 am at the front gate
English Only (EO) Kindergarten (Rooms 11 and 12): 8:40 am to 8:50 am at the rolling gate
EO TK and DL TK (Rooms 13 and 14): 8:50 am to 9:00 am at the rolling gate
MVLA (Room 6): Beginning at 8:50 am at the front gate
EAK (Room 3): 9:00 am to 9:10 am at the front gate
DL Kindergarten cars will pull up into "spots" 1-9 and move forward. CELC staff will help direct families to release at spaces 1, 2, 3, and 4. Cars will continue to move forward and only release in designated areas.
EO Kindergarten cars will pull up into "spots" 4-9 and move forward. CELC staff will help direct families to release at spaces 4, 5, 6, 7, and maybe 8. Cars will continue to move forward and only release in designated areas.

We Are Hiring
If you, or any of your friends/family, love kids and are looking for part time work, please share our postings. We have a couple of positions on our site as well as on other campuses. Please visit https://www.edjoin.org/alpineschools. Creekside is currently searching for a Dual Language Preschool Teacher. Do you know anyone that has 12 ECE units and speaks Spanish? We are also searching for an instructional aide and two student supervisors. Please send qualified candidates our way!
The district would like to increase the number of substitute teachers in our pool. The pay has increased to $200 dollars a day. Please help spread the word. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call Mrs. Ripke.
Wish List
We have received emails from parents and community members asking how they can help us with our unique needs this year. With the upcoming transition to Phase 3 on March 15, we are increasing our inventory of recess equipment and other supplies to accommodate larger groups of students. If you are willing and able to donate, please consider buying something from our wish list. Items we are most in need/want at this time are: Nerf footballs, bouncy balls, soccer balls, Flying Turtles, catch a ball set, sand toys, and a giant outdoor tic tac toe set. Please feel free to share our wish list if you know of anyone in your family or community members that may want to help.
