School closure due to COVID-19 outbreak
Dear LISA Parents/Guardians,
UPDATED INFORMATION:
The Arkansas Department of Education has directed schools in Pulaski, Grant, Saline and Jefferson counties to close from March 13 through March 29 due to COVID-19. LISA Academy schools in Central Arkansas will be closed through Spring Break. Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) days will be used for students to complete learning remotely.
Thank you for your understanding as we all navigate through this challenging time. With our state summative testing season on the horizon, we want to be sure that students continue their learning even while they are away from the physical school buildings. During the school closure next week, students will be expected to complete the prescribed Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) materials provided by their teachers. This work should consist of about six hours of work for students. Of course, this time will vary some from student to student. Assignments will be available online, primarily through Google Drive Folders on our website.

Arkansas Stem Festival is Postponed
This is an important update regarding the Arkansas STEM Festival scheduled for Friday, March 13. After careful consideration of the current COVID-19 situation, we have decided that the event will be postponed until a later date, to be determined.
This decision has been made out of an abundance of caution, not due to any known cases of COVID-19 among participating groups or individuals. Because the safety and health of all students and adults involved is of utmost importance, we do not want to create any unnecessary risk for any of those individuals.
We will update you with details regarding plans for the new date as soon as those plans are finalized. Thank you for all you do!
Aftercare Program Updates
We have made some changes to our Aftercare policy.Starting on March 2,2020, in order to keep students and staff safe, and to have a clear count of who belongs on our campus after the 3:15pm dismissal, going forward, if your student attends Aftercare one or more times in a month, you will be charged the after care fee of $60.00 for the month. After care is a great way to keep you students safe and keep them out of the elements after school.
Per our old policy, if your student attended after care more than 6 times a month from August through the end of February, you will be receiving an invoice for your aftercare charges if you have not already paid.
Any past due balances over $60.00 (one month) or more at any given time throughout the year will result in your student not being able to attend aftercare until the balance is paid.
To register your child for our after care program, please see the front office to get them signed up.

No cell phone usage on campus
All cellular phones, cell phone accessories, and electronic devices must be turned off and kept in the locker during the school day and while in a school building. The school will not be responsible for damage to, loss or theft of any cellular phone or electronic device a student brings to school. The use of camera phones for recording is strictly forbidden on the school premises at any time. If something needs to be addressed, email the teacher, or, if it is urgent, call the front office.
Repeat offenders will be sanctioned in line with our existing behaviour policy
