The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available beginning October 1st

Seniors and parents/guardians have two opportunities to attend FAFSA workshops. The first workshop will be hosted in the Agua Fria High School Library on October 19th, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. If you are unable to attend this workshop, we will be hosting a district-wide FAFSA workshop at Millennium High School on October 21st, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. We will have staff from the high school, along with college and university representatives available to assist our families in completing the FAFSA.

* Spanish-speaking assistance will be offered for our families.

RSVP is not required, but it is encouraged.

Create your Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID before completing the FAFSA

Seniors and their parents/guardians need to create an account to complete federal student aid tasks. The FSA ID is used to electronically sign the FAFSA.

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) measures what you're learning in school, determines if you're on track, and opens doors for opportunities to prepare and pay for college.

* Registration is now open for 11th graders!

The cost for the PSAT is $18 and can be paid at the bookstore or at this link.

Juniors who qualify for free/reduced meals may contact their counselor to inquire about a fee waiver.

Registration is also open for 10th graders.

Advanced Placement (AP) Exam Registration Deadline is November 5th

Any student that is enrolled in any AP class is responsible to sign up for AP tests through their College Board account. Mr. Gironi, AP Testing Coordinator, visited ALL AP classes on 9/27 and 9/28 to explain the test registration process, fees and deadlines.

The regular cost for each AP test is $15.

Students that are eligible for free or reduced meals will have a cost of $0 per AP test. The meal application has to be turned in every year to determine eligibility. Mr. Gironi provided copies of the application to each AP class. The application must be turned in to the cafeteria as soon as possible.

We will start collecting payments next semester.

Fulton Fundamentals - Find the engineering major that's right for you!

Arizona State University is offering a series of workshops dedicated to helping prospective students find the Fulton Schools degree that is right for them! Workshops are offered for each of the seven Fulton Schools.

The workshops are FREE and available for current 11th and 12th grade students.


Senior Launch Guide

The Senior Launch Guide includes a wealth of information about career exploration, FAFSA help, scholarship and job tips, selecting and applying for colleges, and more.

Each senior has access to a digital copy of the Launch Guide, however, we have a limited number of physical copies in the counseling office and College and Career Center. If a senior wants a copy, please stop by to pick one up while supplies last.

How to Avoid Scholarship and Financial Aid Scams

Please be aware that there are several scholarship and college search scams out there. DON'T pay for college and scholarship information! You can get all your resources right here at AFHS through the counseling department. Make an appointment to speak with your counselor and/or Mrs. Ciulei in the College and Career Center.

  • For the 2021-2022 school year, all enrolled students will receive one (1) reimbursable breakfast and one (1) reimbursable lunch, at no cost, each school day. Students are not required to submit a Free/Reduced application for the daily free meal.

  • Even though students will receive their meals at no cost, it is still vital for parents to complete and submit a Free/Reduced application. Students who qualify for free or reduced meal benefits are eligible to receive P-EBT funds, reduced registration fees for ACT/AP/SAT tests, reduced registration for athletic fees, discount rates for college application fees, discounted rates on internet services, etc.
