Dance Fit Boosterthon Fundraiser

Greenlodge Families! The weekend is here and our Greenlodge Dance Fit Fundraiser is already half way through! Currently, we are only one third of the way to our goal of $15,000 and we need your help!

Thank you for every share and donation so far, we are grateful for your participation. This year is an important one for our school. We appreciate everyone’s support as we raise funds in this challenging season!

If you haven’t registered your student on, it’s easy to do this weekend. Then, consider sharing with extended family and friends, and if you are able to, consider making a donation as well. Every share and donation adds up to make a big difference for our school.

If your family gets new donations this weekend totaling $60, your students will earn a special bonus reward!

Thank you for supporting our school.

Boosterthon Prize Pick-Up

Prize pick-up FOR ALL students will be on Wednesday from 12-1PM or after school from 2-3PM. Due to the quantity and size of some of the prizes, we appreciate families coming to curbside pick-up.

Notes from the Nurse...

Greetings from the nurse!

We will soon be coming into the flu and cold season here in Massachusetts. The symptoms of influenza and the common cold can mimic those of COVID-19. That can make things challenging, but the best thing you can do is stay home when sick. Always check in with the primary care provider with symptoms so your child can be assessed not only for COVID-19, but also illnesses such as strep throat and influenza.

Holiday Gatherings: The CDC recommends celebrating virtually or with members of your own household (who are consistently taking measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19); this poses the lowest risk for spread. Click here for more holiday guidance.

Holiday Travel: The CDC recommends staying home this year, which is the best way to protect yourself and others during the holiday season. If you travel, please be informed of the risks involved and follow the Massachusetts Travel Regulations. If you visit a high risk state, you must fill out a travel form and either produce a negative COVID-19 test that was administered up to 72 hours prior to returning to Massachusetts or quarantine for 14 days. Please be proactive about sending in documentation before your child returns to school.

Influenza Vaccine: The flu shot is mandatory this year for all K-12 students by December 31st per state guidelines. You can send me a copy of their vaccination via email or upload it into the SNAP Health Portal.

Test Sites: The Massachusetts Stop the Spread Sites are running smoothly and generally provide results in 24 hours or less. Many Dedham families have used the Brockton site at Massasoit and the Randolph site. While it is always good to check in with the Primary Care Provider on symptoms, this is a great option to get a test done quickly, for free, and for both symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals.

Call or email if you have any health-related questions: (781) 310-4248,

Masks are Mandatory in Massachusetts

This week Governor Baker declared masks must be worn in all public places even when 6' of social distancing is possible. This includes playgrounds. This Tuesday, we had many students who visited the playground and were not wearing masks. Please remind your children of this rule... even when school is not in session. We're all in this together.

Library News from Ms. Bickel

Library Book Checkout Details

I’m so excited for students to be able to borrow books from the library! Students can borrow 2 books from the library at a time in two ways:

If students are learning remotely, I will send an email when the books are ready to pick up in the main office. If students are learning in school, books will be delivered to their classrooms to take home.

There is a bin in the main office lobby and in the library to return all library books. Please return plastic bags to quarantine and reuse as well.

The Greenlodge Library Website has more details about checking out books and other library news and links. Please reach out to me directly at with any questions. Thank you!

Dedham Covid Relief Resources

information with you all regarding the Dedham Covid relief fund. The Dedham Covid Relief Task force continues to meet regularly and has had a number of successful fundraisers over the spring and summer to raise money for this important fund. Please see the link below for more information. In general, residents can call 781-751-9126 and be connected to someone at town hall who can direct them to resources. Families have been impacted in a number of ways as a result of the pandemic and may be struggling with rent or mortgage payments, utility bills, food insecurity, childcare, medication costs and other difficulties. If you hear of families that may be struggling, please pass on the above phone number to them. Maria Antonuccio (the High School Nurse) and myself are part of the Dedham Covid Relief Task Force and we would be happy to answer any questions you may have. The link to the resource is here:

Handmade Cards for Healthcare Workers

in lieu of the candy drive, students made handmade cards for healthcare workers. For every card made, Wellesley Dental will donate 25 cents to purchase PPE for healthcare workers. Students at Greenlodge made 110 cards! Here are a few examples.

DPS Remote Learning Resources for Families

The Remote Learning Resources Site provides access to skill-based video tutorials for the tools that students will encounter most frequently. Each of the videos provide an overview of the learning platforms as well as tutorials designed to help students and their caregivers access the technologies.

In addition to these "asynchronous" video based resources, Dedham faculty members will also hold a series of virtual office hours beginning on September 14th. You will find a schedule for these opportunities as well as registration information on the site.
