- Once all of the fifth graders pass you, feel free to go back into your room.
- Please instruct your kids to clap, cheer, etc. but please do tell them to not ask for High Fives of the fifth graders as they pass!
EOY Staff Celebration
We are planning to gather as a staff in the flex room after the last student leaves on Thursday, May 20th. We will begin with celebrations of our staff that will be leaving us and some staff recognitions.
Once we are finished, please feel free to pick up your boxed lunch if you ordered one. There will be some tables set up in the flex room for those that would like to eat in there, but you all are welcome to take your meal and go back to your classroom, staff lounge, or another location of your choosing!

Level Up Your Learning
NEW this year for all families grades pre-K to 8th grade is Level Up Your Learning, a website designed to engage with key skills through games, activities, and lessons. Students may follow reading and math activities based on recommendations from their teachers or choose their own learning adventure based on their interests. The website will launch May 17 and families will receive district communication telling them more about its features.
Teachers - Please see the following:
- You will be receiving a Bingo Card in your mailboxes that should go home with every student the week of the 17th! I would do this on the same day as your MAP report!
- Teachers are asked to fill out what "level" the students should start on. The level corresponds with a grade level...but during the committee felt like students wouldn't participate as much if they saw that they were starting at a grade level lower than what they are in. Teachers - If in doubt, put the current grade "level" on the bingo form.
- Level 1 - Preschool
- Level 2 - K
- Level 3 - 1st
- Level 4 - 2nd
- Level 5 - 3rd
- Level 6 - 4th
- Level 7 - 5th
- Level 8 - 6th
- We would like all staff, K-5, to walk students through the website during the last few weeks of school.
Teachers will have access to the website in the coming days. You can project it up on your screen and walk them through it since they won't have iPads.
It will be important that students:
- Understand how to access the website.
- Know what level they should start with in reading and math.
- Know how to play Choose Your Own Adventure.
Additional Information
- More details about the website will be coming through district communication to staff and families.
- This communication will ensure there is clarity on the purpose of the website and how to use the website.
We will have optional informational nights for families in May to learn how to use the website.
Visit www.olatheschools.org/summerlearning to learn more about these summer opportunities at all levels.
