From the Principal's Desk
Dear Eagle Nation,
Congratulations to the Class of 2022! On behalf of our faculty, staff, and administration, I congratulate you and your senior on their anticipated graduation from George Washington High School. Graduation from high school is a significant event in the lives of students, parents, and families. The high school graduation ceremony provides memories and impressions that will last a lifetime. Each ceremony is a dignified event where the actual conferring of diplomas signifies the long, hard work of everyone involved: students, parents, faculty, and administrators.
George Washington High School’s Graduation Ceremony will occur on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Averett North Campus. To ensure all graduates receive the proper
recognition, we have developed specific ceremony expectations and guidelines for all students participating in the program. We will review these guidelines and other important information at our series of Senior meetings to be held on Tuesday, April 5th with the student meeting occurring during the day and a mandatory student/parent meeting occurring at 5:30 pm in the GWHS auditorium. Guidance counselors will be on hand at both meetings to answer your questions or concerns.
On behalf of George Washington High School, welcome back! We have missed you all so much over the past few days!
Dr. Johnnie M. Simmons
