From the Principal
Dear Copeland Families,
January is over, and February is here, and love is in the air at Copeland! Copeland is a No Place for Hate campus, and our committee provides lots of activities for students to be kind and respectful. We have weekly kindness challenges. Ask your children to tell you about them.
If your child is a car rider, you know that the line is rather long most days. Thank you for being respectful of other parents by remaining in your place in line. We are working to get our students into the building faster. Please teach your children to be independent and to exit the car when directed by a staff member.
We are entering our testing season, and our 4th and 5th graders will be taking their benchmark tests on Feb. 18th and Feb. 19th. Thank you for understanding that we cannot allow visitors on those two days. Friday, Feb. 28th is Go Texan Day, and our Kindergarteners, 1st graders, and 2nd graders will have “Dance Across Texas.” You are invited to come out to see these precious Colts dancing their hearts out (please send in your RSVPs if you plan to attend). We will not have lunch visitors this day as our dances will be in the cafeteria, and many grade levels will be eating in their classrooms. Thanks for understanding. Our Horizons students will be attending Da Vinci Day on Saturday, Feb. 22nd. Wow, what a busy and fun month of activities!
On a house-keeping note, our lost and found is overflowing. Jackets and lost items will be on the stage next week. Please ask your children to claim their items. Feel free to stop by to search as well. Any items not claimed will be donated by the end of the day on Fri., Feb. 7th.
And lastly, please see the below clinic note calling for additional clothing to keep on hand. If you could help with a clothing donation, we would really appreciate it.
I truly love all our Colts! Thank you for sharing them with us each day.
