Internet Saftey

Why does this matter to students?

Why is the internet unsafe?

The internet is a great tool that can be used to communicate and learn. You can do research, watch videos, and learn about places that are far away. But, not everyone uses the internet for good things. There are a few rules to keep you safe while you are on the internet.

Laws to protect you:

In the United States, people must ask your parents before they collect information about you. If they want to know your name, address, phone number, or Social Security Number, they must ask your parents first. (kidshealth.org) This is called the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
