Running with the Story 5K Run/Walk for Literacy

Saturday, Nov. 15th, 8-10am

The Run/Walk is sponsored by the Literacy Alliance of Metro Atlanta (LAMA), a coalition of more than 30 organizations, including Atlanta Fulton Public Library, seeking to achieve 100% literacy for the adults and families they serve.

The theme for this year’s event is “Running with the Story” and participants are encouraged to come dressed as a character from a favorite book. Prizes will be given for the best costumes, as well as for race winners in seven age categories.

Read 180 Demonstration Classroom

On Wednesday Dr. Velenaia Koffi and Mrs. Tonetta Green hosted our first Read 180 Demonstration Classroom! These demonstration classrooms allow us to share effective teaching practices and learn from each other. Dr. Koffi and her students provided us with a real-time model of the instructional block: software rotation, small group, and modeled and independent reading. (See the gallery below.)
